Trade Apprentice - Power Plant Operations
at NTPC
About This Apprenticeship
Train at NTPC thermal power stations learning boiler operation, turbine maintenance, condenser systems, and the integrated processes of large-scale power generation. The role provides hands-on experience at facilities like Vindhyachal, Singrauli, Korba, Rihand, or Dadri, which together generate a significant share of India's electricity. Apprentices learn standard operating procedures for plant start-up and shutdown, monitor critical parameters through SCADA systems, perform routine and preventive maintenance, and gain exposure to safety protocols essential for high-pressure steam and high-voltage environments. NTPC apprenticeships are considered prestigious in the Indian power sector and successful apprentices often gain advantage in NTPC's recruitment cycles for engineering officer positions through GATE.
