About This Apprenticeship
Work with NTPC instrumentation teams on process control systems, SCADA, PLCs, distributed control systems (DCS), and plant monitoring equipment at thermal and solar power stations. The role covers calibration of pressure, temperature, and flow transmitters, troubleshooting of control loops, and maintenance of safety interlock systems that protect equipment and personnel. Apprentices learn to use industry-standard instrumentation tools, work with HART communicators, and gain exposure to control system platforms from vendors like Yokogawa, ABB, and Siemens. Power plant instrumentation is a specialised skill set with steady demand at PSU and private power utilities, refineries, chemical plants, and increasingly at renewable energy facilities being commissioned across India.
