About This Apprenticeship
Manage and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure including servers, networks, storage systems, and cloud platforms across HCL's client base. The role covers Linux and Windows server administration, network configuration and troubleshooting, virtualisation with VMware and Hyper-V, monitoring with tools like Nagios and SolarWinds, and increasingly cloud infrastructure on AWS and Azure. Apprentices learn ITIL frameworks for service management, develop scripting skills in PowerShell and Bash for automation, and gain exposure to disaster recovery, backup strategies, and capacity planning. IT infrastructure roles remain core to enterprise IT operations, and HCL's apprenticeship is a strong entry point into Systems Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or DevOps Engineer career paths.
